Chemist Warehouse Greens vs $11 Moringa, Packed in Truganina

By Neer, NutriThrive Truganina · Last updated: 31 Aug 2026

Shade-dried moringa leaf powder packed in Truganina, compared with Chemist Warehouse greens

Quick Answer

Vital Organic Greens is $22.99 / 200 g at Chemist Warehouse today: a sweetened six-plant blend. I pack one shade-dried moringa leaf at $11 / 100 g with an NMI PDF. This is not the CW capsules post. Label walk-through, not a cure pitch.

Disclosure: I sell the $11 bag. Chemist Warehouse sells Vital. This is a label and price walk-through, not a cure pitch.

I'm Neer. I pack NutriThrive orders at 15 Europe Street, Truganina VIC 3029. Today is Monday 31 August 2026.

ABC published a grocery-prices piece this morning. Canstar's same Woolworths basket went from $213.89 in March 2025 to $232.02 in July 2026, up 8.5 percent, while wages grew about 3.3 percent. People are shopping around. Google Suggest already returns "best greens powder chemist warehouse". That search usually lands people on a blended greens tub, not a single leaf.

This post is not my Chemist Warehouse moringa capsules comparison. That one is about capsule brands on the CW shelf versus my powder. This one is about Vital Organic Greens Powder 200 g, the six-ingredient organic blend, versus the bag I pack: 100% pure moringa leaf powder, $11 per 100 g, SKU NT-MOR-100G. Live 31 August 2026: $11.00 (was $14.00), InStock. 200 g is $21.50. The 400 g bundle (buy 3 get 1) is $35.00.

I am not saying greens powders are fake. I am saying read the label, do the dollar maths, and decide if you want a sweetened six-plant blend from a pharmacy aisle or one shade-dried leaf with a published NMI summary. Food, not TGA medicine. I do not alkalise anyone.

What sits on the Chemist Warehouse page today

I opened the live CW listing for Vital Organic Greens Powder 200 g Exclusive Size on 31 August 2026. Price on that page: $22.99. Product ID 2673084.

The label, as printed on that page:

Ingredient Share
Spirulina* 24.8%
Kale* 17.4%
Broccoli* 17.4%
Barley grass* 17.4%
Wheat grass* 17.4%
Chlorella* 5%
Stevia <1%
Monk fruit <1%
Thaumatin <1%

Asterisks mean 100% certified organic on the plant powders. The three sweeteners are listed under 1% each. Dosage on the same page: 1–2 teaspoonfuls mixed with cold water or non-acidic juice. Storage: below 30°C, then refrigerate after opening and use within 90 days.

That is a real product. Organic certification is a real difference. I will not hide it. NutriThrive moringa is not certified organic. If organic certification is your non-negotiable, buy Vital (or another certified brand) and stop reading. The rest of this post is for people comparing "greens powder at CW" with a single-ingredient leaf they can stir into food they already eat.

CW marketing copy on that page talks about energy, immunity, alkalise, and cleanse. I am not repeating those as facts. They are the seller's words. ABC's July 2025 greens-powder piece had dietitians saying powders do not replace a healthy meal, a scoop is not a vegetable serve, and they work best as an add-on under professional guidance if you use them at all. That matches how I talk about my own bag.

What I pack in Truganina

One ingredient: Moringa oleifera leaf powder. Shade-dried, milled, bagged. No stevia. No monk fruit. No thaumatin. No spirulina. No chlorella. No barley grass. No wheat grass.

Live sizes on the moringa PDP today:

Size / SKU Live price Notes
100 g · NT-MOR-100G $11.00 Was $14.00. About $0.33/day at 1 tsp on the PDP maths.
200 g · NT-MOR-200G $21.50 Closest weight match to Vital's 200 g tub.
400 g bundle · NT-MOR-400G $35.00 Was $44.00. Four × 100 g.
Combo 100 g moringa + 100 g tea + 30 g curry $17.00 Separate SKU if you want more than leaf.
Free AU shipping $80 Standard. Not on a $11 bag alone.

Serving on my page: start at ½ tsp; most adults use 1–2 tsp daily in food. Stir into a smoothie, yoghurt, juice, or a sauce. Taste is grassy and green. Honest guide: what moringa actually tastes like. Everyday uses: how to add moringa to your diet.

Shade-drying matters for colour. Direct sun bleaches leaf. Side-by-side science write-up: shade-dried vs sun-dried. Buyer checklist if you are comparing brands: how to choose moringa powder in Australia.

Dollar maths without the hype

Same rough unit: per 100 g of powder on the shelf.

Product Pack Pack price Per 100 g
Vital Organic Greens (CW, 31 Aug 2026) 200 g $22.99 $11.50
NutriThrive moringa 100 g $11.00 $11.00
NutriThrive moringa 200 g $21.50 $10.75

Vital is certified organic and sweetened. Mine is not organic and not sweetened. Per 100 g they sit within about 75 cents of each other at the 100 g and 200 g lines. The gap is not "cheap leaf versus expensive pharmacy magic". The gap is what is in the bag, how long it lasts after opening, and whether you get a public lab summary.

Daily cost depends on the spoon you use. My PDP quotes about $0.33/day at 1 tsp from the 100 g pack. Vital's label is 1–2 teaspoons. If you match teaspoon for teaspoon, you are in the same ballpark on dollars before shipping. If you take two teaspoons of Vital every day, you burn the 200 g tub faster and the daily cost climbs. I am not inventing gram-perfect teaspoon weights. Use a kitchen scale once if you care.

Shipping maths for my bag (zone 1 example from the live PDP JSON-LD, 31 Aug 2026):

Order Goods Example AU post Total
100 g alone $11.00 $9.69 $20.69
200 g alone $21.50 $10.04 $31.54
400 g bundle $35.00 $13.73 $48.73
Free ship threshold $80+ $0 goods only

Pickup at Truganina is cash, by arrangement, no postage. Phone or email first. Free Australia-wide standard shipping kicks in at AU$80, not at $11. Full policy: shipping and returns.

CW has stores. If you are already in a Chemist Warehouse for something else, Vital has a convenience edge. I am a warehouse in Truganina, not a pharmacy aisle. That is the honest trade.

Label walk-through: blend vs one leaf

Vital is a blend. Spirulina is the largest slice at 24.8%. Then four plant powders at 17.4% each, chlorella at 5%, and three sweeteners under 1%. You are buying algae + brassicas + cereal grasses + sweetener stack. Organic certification covers the plant powders marked with an asterisk.

Mine is one leaf. If the bag says moringa, it is moringa. No proprietary blend line to decode. No sweetener to round off the green taste. If you hate the taste of leaf, you will notice. If you want it to taste like a flavoured drink, Vital's stevia / monk fruit / thaumatin stack is doing that job on purpose.

Storage after opening. Vital: refrigerate, use within 90 days. That is a short window for a 200 g tub if you travel or forget it at the back of the fridge. Mine: cool, dry pantry. Shelf-life guide on the site is measured in months, not a 90-day fridge clock: how long moringa powder lasts. Do not refrigerate my powder as a default; moisture is the enemy.

What "organic" does and does not buy you. Organic is a farming and processing certification. It is not a heavy-metals certificate by itself. It is not a TGA listing. It is not a disease claim. I am not certified organic. I publish an NMI batch summary for heavy metals and pesticide residues instead. Different proof. Different buyer.

The NMI PDF vs "trust the aisle"

On the moringa product page there is a link: View NMI Lab Summary (PDF). Example batch on that page: NT042024, Australian Government National Measurement Institute. It is a food-quality screen for heavy metals and pesticide residues. It is not a medical certificate. It is not an organic logo. It is not a cure.

How to read that kind of report: moringa heavy metals lab testing Australia. Ask any seller for a recent certificate of analysis before you buy, including me. Ask for the batch ID on your pack.

Pharmacy greens pages are often product copy. They rarely publish a government lab PDF next to the "Add to cart" button. That is one reason I bother packing in small runs and linking the summary on the PDP.

This is not the AG1 post, and not the CW capsule post

Three different comparisons live on the site. Do not mash them:

  1. AG1 vs single-ingredient moringa — coverage and cost of a multi-nutrient scoop versus leaf: AG1 alternative Australia.
  2. Chemist Warehouse moringa capsules vs my powder — capsule brands, dose maths, lab transparency: CW moringa vs NutriThrive.
  3. This post — CW Vital Organic Greens (blended greens + sweeteners) vs my $11/100 g leaf.

Cost-per-nutrient deep dive if you want spreadsheet thinking: is moringa worth it. AUST L label language if a tub starts talking like a medicine: what AUST L means.

What greens powders will not do

I sell leaf. I do not sell a vegetable replacement.

The ABC dietitians' line is the one I use with customers: a powder is not a serve of broccoli. It will not fill you up like food. It will not fix a week of takeaway by itself. Today's grocery story has people swapping meat for lentils and buying less confectionery. That is pantry behaviour. A greens tub is optional.

Legal line I put on the bag and the site: food, not medicine. The TGA regulates therapeutic claims. I do not list AUST L numbers on moringa powder because I am not selling it as a listed medicine. Powder, leaves, and tea are legal to buy as food. Choose brands that publish batch testing rather than cure claims. I am not a doctor. ABN 32 639 442 616.

If a page says alkalise, cleanse, immunity, or detox as a reason to buy greens, treat that as marketing until a clinician you trust says otherwise. My FAQ and PDP say the same thing in fewer words.

How I actually use a teaspoon

Not a ritual. Not a shot glass of wellness.

  • Smoothie: ½–1 tsp with banana or mango so the grass note is not the only flavour.
  • Yoghurt: ½ tsp stirred into plain yoghurt. Sweetener is your call; I do not put it in the bag.
  • Dal or soup: ½ tsp off the heat at the end so you do not cook it into sludge.
  • Skip it if you already ate a plate of actual greens. The powder is optional leaf, not a scoreboard.

Father's Day and AFL are still on the calendar

Father's Day is Sunday 6 September 2026. I already wrote the under-$40 gift pack piece. AFL Week 2 starts Thursday 3 September. Those posts sell different SKUs. Today's commercial job is the weekday shopper typing "best greens powder chemist warehouse" while grocery bills feel heavy. If you came here for a gift, the gift pack is $35 (100 g moringa + 100 g Darjeeling + 30 g curry + 95 g soap). Free ship still needs $80.

Shipping from Truganina on a Monday

Order before 2pm on a business day for same-day Melbourne dispatch when I can turn it around. No Sunday dispatch. Typical delivery 3–4 days to most metro and suburban addresses, longer for some rural. International exists; free worldwide is a higher threshold ($90 on the shipping page). Details: shipping and returns, FAQ, Melbourne.

I pack the bags. If checkout should be free post at $80+ and it is not, call +61 438 201 419 and I can process it manually.
